In 1694,
Florence Cristofori started inventing something later known as a piano. It was
finished in 1700s.It has come to be one of the world’s most popular
instruments. After Cristofori’s piano came the harpsichord, clavichord and
other followers. The clavichord was invented in 1157 which was then called the
keyed monochord, which had several strings. In 1725 Kong a court poet,
translated Mafrei’s article on Cristofori’s piano. Even after doing this
article, the piano was still not received very enthusiastically. The first song
probably to be composed with the piano in mind and not the harpsichord was
Sonata Ops 2. The one song that made the piano soar to the to was one of Mozart’s
piano concertos. Mozart liked the touch of the Viennese better than the English
didn’t work as fast as the Viennese or the modern. Mozart later switched to
modern because of it’s fast and efficient damping. Erard made his first square
piano in 1777 after America declared its independence. In 1777 also Robert
Stodart took out patent number of 1172 for an instrument that was both
harpsichord and piano. In the 1800s somewhere Jacquard developed a weaving loom
that was manufactured in Lyons, later that century the loom idea was applied to
musical instruments. In 1818 Beethoven, a famous pianist, was given a grand
piano that still exists today. In 1830, there were approximately 50 piano makers
in London, England. In France there were about 75 piano makers. By 1960, Yamaha
produced 2,200 pianos a month. |
