Major Volcanoes In Asia

Vulkan Klyuchevskaya Sopka is in Kamchatka, a peninsula in the east of Russia on the Bering Sea. The mountain elevation is 15,584 ft. The first recorded eruption was in 1697. The most recent eruption was in1988. Klyuchevskaya Sopka is the highest of twenty two active volcanoes on the Kamchatka Peninsula.

Mount Fuji is in Honshu, in the middle of Japan. The mountain elevation is 12,389 ft. The first recorded eruption was in 781 and it’s one of the earliest recorded eruptions. The most recent eruption was in 1707. Mount Fuji is the highest mountain peak of Japan whose symmetrical snow capped cone is a favorite Japanese artistic theme.

Gunung Kerinci on the east side, in the middle of Sumatra, Indonesia. The mountain elevation is 12,467 ft. The first recorded eruption was in 1838. The most recent eruption was in 1970. It is the highest volcano in Indonesia.
