Students:

Jeff :  My name is Jeff and I am 10 years old and have one sister. I was born in Phoenix, Arizona.I created the game "Volcano Quiz" and really enjoyed making a Website with my friends. The most interesting part was to be able to put together our Website and actually see it on the screen. We did have some problems losing our files and not being able link our pages, but with brainwork we solved them. I would recommend you to try and make your own site!

Cedric : I am 9 years old and I was born in Concord, Massachusetts.  I love airplanes and one day I would like to be a pilot.  I have really enjoyed making this site, I made the game with Jeff Anderson.  I also made the part on Shield Volcanoes and Cinder Cones in the "Types of Volcanoes" page.  I also helped Kendra on her page on volcanoes in Antartica and South America.

Matt : I am 10 years old, I live in Scottsdale, AZ and have 8 pets!  I have two older brothers.  I think this project was interesting.  I had fun learning about volcanoes, how and where they form.  I made the page on the Ring of Fire, it took a lot of work!

Jenna : I am 10 years old and was born in Illinois.  I love playing soccer and swimming.  I am on the same soccer team as Kendra who is also in the Thinkquest team with me.  I am really glad I participated in the Thinkquest project eventhough it was hard to meet the deadlines sometimes.  I recommend you to try it!  I worked on the "How volcanoes are formed" page of the website.

Kendra : I am 9 years old, I was born in Tuscon, AZ.  I have two older brothers, twelve pets (tons of Guinea pigs and a dog "Ginger").  I love sports especially soccer so it was hard for me to give up recess sometimes when I had to work for Thinkquest, but I had lots of fun learning about volcanoes abd computers inside my classroom.  I made the "Major Volcanoes Around the World" page.

Andrew : I have been very busy lately with the Thinkquest project.  I am moving to New Jersey which makes it even worse!  I am glad I have been able to do this before I move because it has been a real experience.   It has been challenging in some ways also.  At times, it was hard because our computer kept deleting our pages!!    It was a really hard experience but fun.  It is nothing like the web pages I have made by myself in the past!!  I would really encourage your school to try it too.  I am sure you will have lots of fun.  It was really challenging trying to find free pictures!!!  I made the home page and the page on "Things Made From Volcanic Material".

Teacher

Paula Keefer

Mrs. Keefer is our teacher.  She supported the project from the beginning, took part in all the meetings, and encouraged us with pizza and postcards, reminding us of how great of a job we were doing!  Her excellent curriculum on volcanoes was the inspiration for our choice of volcanoes.

Parents Coordinators

Marty : Marty is Andrew's mom.  She has participated in every step of the project supporting the team of 6 students and bringing her knowledge of computers and web editing to our project.  She managed to lead the project along with moving to the east coast on the day of the deadline for Thinkquest Junior!

Anne :  Anne is Cedric's mom and found out about Thinkquest when Cedric was in 3rd Grade.  She spoke to the 4th grade teacher Mrs Keefer and was thrilled to see the support the teacher was willing to offer for her class to be involved in the project.  She led the project along with the team through ups (seeing how motivated the students were) and the downs (losing all our files two days before the publishing deadline!).
