Is it Rare to See Megamouth
Sharks?
It is very rare to see or catch a
megamouth shark. They swim between 150m to 200m down in the water.
Scientists have only recorded ten, and four have been reported but
not officially recorded. When scientists catch a live megamouth shark
they attach a radio tag to follow them. At night, during feeding
time, the megamouth shark comes up to depths of 10m to 15m. If it
hears or feels anything it will go back 150m to 200m
down.
