Computer

There were many different kinds of computers that were invented.  The first ones were made so things would be easier to solve or calculate.   Charles Babbage invented the first mechanical computer in 1834.  It was as big as bus!  The machine was worked on for 40 years, but was never finished, and had more than 2,000 moving parts.  The first digital computer was built in 1945 by John Mauchly and Presper Eckert.  It used 20,000 vacuums!  The Laptop computer was invented in 1987 by Clive Sinclair.  It weighed less than two pounds.  Computers have been very useful for people like for example, typing and printing things out of printers, calculating or, the Internet.  We also use the computer for our entertainment like doing art or CD games.  Computers have been very important.
