Mexicans

Mexico is the home of 94 million people.  Mexican ancestors include these people: Maya, Aztec, Zpotec, Yaqui, and Tarahumara.  All people in Mexico can speak Spanish.  Mexicans dress a little like people do on a very special occasion.  They wear dresses,pants,shirts,the same thing most people wear like you.  The Mexicans enjoy eating beans, tomatoes, peppers, vegetables, meat, and cheese.   

Do you celebrate Christmas?  If you do, you know what it's like to get presents, eat, and have a really fun time.  Well, Mexicans do something similar to that. They get clothes for presents, but not Abercrombie, Limited Too, Old Navy, and other places you might get your clothes.  Want to see a person similar to what they look like? CLICK here.   They get clothes with symbols of their religion or a blanket.  They wouldn't get nail polish but maybe pants or face paint when something great happens.   Mexicans celebrate their Independence Day called Fiestas (also know as festivals).

Do you like to do crafts?  Well, this is the right place for you! This is how you make Paple Picado which also means Pierced Paper.  All you need are 2 materials:

1. Tissue Paper (different colors)

2. Scissors                        

A sheet of tissue paper is always about 30 inches by 20 inches.  When the paper is cut into quarters,your tissue will be the size of Mexican Papel which measures 15 by 10 inches.

Procedures

1. Fold a piece of tissue paper in half the short way.

2. Fold the tissue  paper in half 2 more times the same way.

3. Cut sections from the folded edges. DO NOT cut all the way from 1 edge to the other or the paper will fall apart. Carefully when your done  on fold the paper. Then you have made a Paple Pacado.

A lot of the Mexicans like to dance and have a great time.  They have many celebrations like you and your family do.  One of the major dances is called The Mexican Hat Dance. It is one of the most popular dances Mexico has.  It is a performance by the Ballet Folkloric, a dance company that appears most at the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico City.   I am sure that it is a blast to be there and I know someday I want to go there..  In Mexico there are many deserts.  BE CAREFUL! Don't get hurt by one of those cactuses.  There are lots of buildings in different places in Mexico.  In other places there are deserts.  Mexico is located   south-east of the United States.
