Martin Luther King JR.

Civil Rights Leader

    Born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, nobody knew  that Martin Luther King Jr. would be the most famous African American of his time . Although he grew up with racism he promised himself that he would stop it !!!

        When he was  older  he got married to Coretta Sott. They had three children named:Yolanda Denise, Martin  Luther III, Dexter Scott .He was a Baptist minister in two churches .He quit one to be in the one that his father had preached in. Even though he and his family went to church every Sunday , Martin was very busy planning marches and speeches .He eventually had made 208 speeches .

    He made a lot of acmishments , like being the youngest person to be awarded the" Nobel Peace Prize"He was also the founder and of the S C L C .(The Southern Christian Leadership Conference) .Over 250,000 marched to Washington D.C with him on August 28,1963.In another march more than 1,000 children , not including adults ,that's a lot of people.

    39 year old Martin was assanatied in Memphis, Tennessee ,April 4,1968.It was mourned around the world.A few years after his death ,people declared his birthday a national holiday.

            So in other words--Martin Luther King JR. is probably the BEST civil rights leader yet.
