Battle of Bunker Hill
The Battle of Bunker Hill was on June 23, 1775.
The British and the Americans hoped to gain more advantage overlooking Boston. The Americans moved first. They wanted to take over all of Bunker Hill. But instead they dug into Breeds Hill. They kept getting closer to the town and the city. On June 17, 1775 British soldiers were led by Howe. They attacked American poitions on the hill called Breeds Hill. To save the bullets and their anmunition, the patriots were told not to shoot until they saw them. They forced the british to flee before they ran out of annmunition. During a third charge the British bayonets forced the Americans to run away. The fight was on the Breeds Hill. It was the bloodiest battle in the war.
