Benjamin Franklin was a man who stood up for what he Believed in. Ben always found some way to make something work. For example he made bifocals. He came up with this idea because he had poor vision and needed some way to see both near and far so he made Bifocals (glasses).
Benjamin also came up with the stove that we call the Franklin stove. He founded the first public library in America, the first police station and made the glass harmonica. He and his great mind invented all of these things.
Ben was also a printer, writer, and scientist. People thought of him as one of the smartest men and a fair man. Ben wrote poor Richards Almanac, published the 1st newspaper, made a version of the lords prayer, and wrote the finest biography in the English language.
Ben is found on the one hundred dollar bill because he is honored as an American hero. Ben really is a hero.
Franklin also invented something that made ships work more safely. They're called watertight bulkheads. he came up with this idea because during his lifetime he made 8 voyages. this gave him time to learn about ships and that is why he came up with this unique idea.
Franklin also came up with lighting rods just because him and his son went out one stormy night and took a kite with them. they attached a pointy metal piece on top. When lighting struck it traveled through the kite. Ben proved that lightning was electricity so he invented lightning rods to keep ships buildings and houses safe.
Benjamin Franklin gave us things that we use in our everyday life. Ben really did have a great mind.
