Hawaiian Punch
Juice of 6 fresh lemons
24 ounces pineapple juice
4 Teaspoon sugar (white sugar)
1 (28 ounce) bottle club soda
Combine the lemon juice, pineapple juice, and sugar. Just before serving pour in the club soda.
Punch may be served in hollowed watermelon or in a punch bowl. Should be served cold. If preferred to be garnished with a pineapple sick and an ice ring.
Hawaiian Lemon Bread
¼ cup butter
¾ cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten lightly
3 teaspoons grated lemon grind (about 1 lemon)
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2-2½ teaspoons backing powder
1 teaspoon salt
¾ cup milk
½ cup chopped walnuts
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 tablespoons sugar
Cream together butter and ¾ cup sugar until light and fluffy in large bowl of electric mixer. Add eggs and lemon rind; beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Stir in walnuts by handed. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350o (325o for glass pan) for 55 minutes to 1 hour, until bread tastes done.
Combine lemon juice and 2 tablespoons sugar and spoon over hot bread immediately after removing from the oven.
Shoyu Sauce
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
1/3 cup soy sauce
½ teaspoon sugar
¾ cup water
2 tablespoons dry sherry Pinch monosodium glutamate
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Heat to lukewarm.
Almond-sweet Potato Puffs
3 cups mashed cooked sweet potatoes
3 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
5 tablespoons orange marmalade
1 large egg or 2 small eggs
½ teaspoon salt
2/3 cup chopped almonds
Combine mashed potatoes with melted butter, marmalade, egg, and salt in mixing bowl. Beat until smooth; chill. Spread almonds on sheet of wax paper; drop potato mixture by heaping tablespoonfuls onto almonds; roll to coat on all sides. Shape into 2-inch balls and place in greased shallow backing dish. Back at 400o for about 15 minutes or until hot. Place a dollop of butter and a sprig of parsley, if you wish, on each puff before serving. Makes about 12.
Cheese Puffs
French bread
¼ cube margarine
1 pound cheddar small amount of grated onion
Grate the cheese; add margarine and grated onion. Beat with beaters until able to spread. Slice bread. Spread cheese mixture on slices and then cut into ½ or ¼. Bake in 450o oven for about 10 minutes.

Hot Clam Dip
1 can clams, not drained
1 stack Ritz crackers
¼ pound butter
½ teaspoon lemon juice
1-tablespoon dry minced onion Paprika (sprinkled on top)

Pineapple date bread
1egg, beaten
1/3 cup milk
1 cup butter
1 cup crushed pineapple
1 cup chopped nuts
¾ teaspoons salt
1 cup chopped dates
2 3/4 cup flour
¾ cup sugar
2 ¼ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
Beat eggs; add milk and butter, pineapple, nut, and dates. Blend and dry ingredients and add fruit and nut mixture. Bake in greased 9x5x3inch pan at 350o for 1 hour 15 minutes.
