     Clothing

    In India people wear robes of all different colors. Women wore lipstick and all different kinds of jewelry, they wore similar that they do today. Also, men wore turbans on their heads.
   Red Dots
    Did you ever want to know why women from India wear red dots on their forehead? This occasion started a long time ago, back then when two people got married the groom would place a dot of his blood on the bride's forehead, to show that they were married. But, now women have a choice of whether or not they want to wear it. But, if a women is divorced, single or a widow she can not wear that dot of blood on her forehead because it is a symbol of marriage.

Transportation

    People in India rode on things like oxen, camels, and elephants. Also, they wooden carts, and they had ships. India relied on railroads, airplanes, and trucks to ship their goods. They rode buses and bicycles. Less than 1 out of 500 people had cars in India.

   Jobs

    In India people were paid for their work. They did things such as working on roads and other things in public. In India people made great works of writing and wonderful works of art.

   Communication

    In India people used to communicate by cave paintings.

   Goverment

    There is no evidence they were governed by emperors but, the well organized cities suggest a well organized government.

   Language

    Scientists are still unable to read the language of the ancient India people but, they believe there was a common language.

   History

    One empire in India was called the Gupta Empire. The Gupta Empire was around about the same time as the roman Empire. It took over northern India. In the Gupta Empire homes, were only one room and they were made of bamboo, or wood. In the Gupta empire during the "Golden Age" people were very happy. People had religious freedom and they had free medical care. People who committed crime were not put to death.
