AVM (Avian Vacuolar Myelinopathy) - a disease that kills Bald Eagles

Brood - A group of eaglets that are hatched in one year

DDT - A chemical used for killing insects, it has proven harmful to many
           species of wildlife.

Eaglet - A baby eagle

Eyrie  -  The eagle's nest

Endangered species - An animal in danger of becoming extinct, or no
                                          longer existing

Header - A fall or dive with the head first

Incubation - When scientists take eggs and hatch them in an incubator (container that
                    is kept warm for hatching eggs)

Migration - To move from one region to another when the seasons change

Nestling - A newly hatched bird

Plumage - All the feathers that comer a bird's body

Prey - An animal hunted by another animal for food

Talons - The long sharp claws of a bird

Territory - One's own area
