Trees
| The Rainforest has many
different kinds of trees. Here are a few. Cashew Trees are large up to 40 feet high. They have green leaves that are 6 inches long and 4 inches wide , that have bean shaped nuts. Cashew Trees are a kind of evergreen. The nut shells are poisonous, so if you're visiting a rainforest, don't eat the nuts! These trees produce gum. No, not the kind you chew. They also give us apples called cashew apples. On the end there are nuts, called cashew nuts. The Banana Plant is very big up to 10ft.high and 2ft across. Rainforest tribes cook the bananas from this tree, or use them to make beer. The fibers from this particular tree are used to make hammocks, hats, baskets, mats, and roofing material. And last but not least, Ladies and Gentleman, we present...the Brazil Nut Tree!!!! The Brazil Nut Tree is a form of an evergreen. It has a long, straight trunk. The Brazil Nut Tree can be up to 150 feet tall! Now that's tall! This amazing tree has bright green, waxy leaves, and edible seeds. It is located in the Amazon Rainforests. You can use the Brazil Nut Tree to make soap. Interesting Facts Each minute 50 acres of trees dissapear! Think of that. The size of New York State disappears, or 50 million acres disappears every year! Wow! Snap your fingers and a football field of trees is gone!
