Introduction
Mahalo (thank you) for visiting our site. Our site is called Hana Noeau. It means the work of art or wise and skillful work. It is about past and present Hawaiian art. We hope to teach people about how the ancient Hawaiians made use of themselves and the things around them. We also want to teach if the art materials are extinct or anything. The early Hawaiians didn't think of the word "art" like we do today. They used the lauhala for baskets, the blankets made out of kapa, and the koa which they used for bowls, at home and not in museums. We think that Hawaii is special because of this ancient and modern Hawaiian art. We hope you like our site. Annie, Chasity G, Chasity M, and Jasmine |
