Oranos was the first god of the sky, before Cronus took over.  He was also known as Father Sky.   Somehow, Gaea, the first living creature on Earth, with the exception of Chaos, who didn't do much of anything, had  a son without a husband.   This son was named Oranos.  She then married this son and Mother Earth and Father Sky joined.
