ISIS
Isis was the Egyptian goddess of fertility and motherhood. Geb and Nut were her elders. Her brother was Osiris, who was the judge of the dead. She was also the mother of Horus. She was described in ancient stories as wearing the horns of a cow. She was a cult leader in the Mediterranean countries. Her cult ended after the institution of Christianity. Around 550 AD the the last Egyptian temples of Isis were closed. |
