When the Romans adopted Greek myth, they
used their own names for all the different gods and goddesses. The Romans named
planets and other celestial bodies after these gods. In modern times, when the
planets Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto were discovered along with some small asteroids, they
were also given names of the Roman gods. For example, Posiedon's Roman name is
Neptune, which is one of our planets. The two largest asteroids Ceres and Vesta, are
