In 1980 IBM established a PC development team.
In 1981 IBM introduced the first personal computer in August designed with a Microprocessor by Intel.
In 1982 Compaq computers Corp. was founded starting the clone movement.
In 1985 IBM signs joint agreement with Microsoft to create OS-2 operating system software to replace the kind used on the original PC.
In 1989 at a trade show Microsoft showed Windows instead of OS-2.
In 1991 IBM and Microsoft joint development ends. IBM and Apple try to develop Microprocessor and new software.
