Carolyn M. Keene
Who is the real author of Nancy Drew?

Edward Stratemeyer originally created Nancy Drew, yet he never really wrote the earlier volumes. Then who did? Well, Edward Stratemeyer’s daughter Harriet Stratemeyer Adams was thought to be Carolyn Keene, the author of the Nancy Drew series between 1930 & 1982. But after her death it was determined that she had written only a few during the last years that she was alive.

After years of investigation, the truth of Carolyn Keene’s identity finally came out. Her real name was Mildred Augustine Wirt, a/k/a Mildred A. Wirt Benson. She wrote 22 of the first 25 volumes of Nancy Drew books. Another mystery solved!
