Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller, a/k/a Agatha Christie, was born in Torquay, England, in the year 1890. She did not go to school, but was taught at home. Agatha studied the piano and she sang. She married Archibald Christie in 1914. After that, WWI had started and she worked in a Red Cross Hospital as a nurse. Her nursing experience helped in her mystery writing.
Later in her life, Agatha divorced and remarried. Sadly, Agatha Christie Mallowan died on January 12, 1976.
During her lifetime, Agatha Christie wrote over 70 novels and more than 100 short stories. Her first book, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, was published in 1920. Some other novels she wrote include Murder in Mesopotamia, Death on the Nile, and And Then There Were None. Some of the characters include Hercule Poirot, Miss Jane Marple, and Colonel Johnny Race.
