Geography

Niger is located in the Weatern part of Africa. It is southeast of Algeria. The countries that suround it is Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad, Libya, Mail, and Ngeria. It is a land locked country. In Niger it is mostly desert and sand dunes. There is tropics in the south.

People

In Niger there is about 9,962,242 people. There are 7 ethnic groups. Hausa 56%, Djerma 22%, Fula 8.5%, Tuareg 8%, Beri Beri 4.3%, Toubu 4.3% and Gourmantche 1.2%. There are also Muslim 80 %, the remaing 20% is indigenous beliefs and Christians. The languages they speek are Freanch an offical laguage and they speek Hausa, Dejerm. The literacy rate is 13.6% and ages 15 and over can read and write.

Economy

Niger is a poor land locked country. It's main Agriculture products are cowpeas, cotton, peanuts, millet, sorghum, cassava, rice, cattle, sheep, goats, camels,donkeys, horses, poultry. It's industries are cement, bricks, textiles, food processing, chemicals, slaughterhouses, and a few other lightindustries; uranium mining. They import consumer goods, primary materials, machinery, vehicals part, petroleum, cerals.

Government

The capital of Niger is Niamey. Niger has a republic for of government. There are 7 diffrent administrative divison, The administrative divison is like our states. They are The capital district Niamey, Agadez, Diffa, Dosso, Maradi, Niamey, Tahoua, Tillaberi Zinder. There Independence day is on August 3.
