page we will go over the different parts of the outer eye. The outer
eye is the the part that you can see. This image will be helpful
with the definitions below it.

Eyebrow - a line of hair on the skin over the eye, that helps to keep particles like dust out of the eye. The eyebrow is shown in brown.Eyelid - covers the eye and protects it. There is a muscle (orbicularis oculi) underneath the fold of skin that allows the lid to open and close. The layer that touches the eyeball is called the palpebral conjunctivita which is what gets infected when you get conjuntivitus (Pinkeye). The eyelid would come down over the eye when it closes.
Eyelash - a line of hair directly above or below the eye, which provides more protection along with the eyebrow and eyelid. The eyelashes are shown in purple.
Iris - shown in blue, it is a muscle that adjusts the size of the pupil. The iris is also shown relative to the inner eye on this page : Inner anatomy
