Hurricane Vocabulary

    HURRICANE - a large tropical storm that forms above warm seas and which have winds with a velocity of more than 110 kilometers per hour.

    EYE - the calm area in the center of a hurricane.

    WIND[S] - air when it is moving.

    DESTRUCTION - the act of destroying

    CLOUDS - A bunch of small raindrops or ice particles seen floating in the air, usually very high above the earth.

    WALL CLOUDS - storm clouds which surround the eye of the hurricane

    TROPICAL REGIONS - regions in the tropics

    TYPHOON - a storm with stong spiral winds that forms over the western Pacific ocean

    CYCLONE - a storm or winds moving in a circular motion
