O.K., now will we begin, Math is actually very simple once you think about it I mean you may not even know when your doing math sometimes. But that isn't the main idea of this page (duh). We're going to teach you all about fractions so you can pass our test.
Fractions can be converted in to money in a very simple way. You must determine what one whole is in money and you must divide that by the denominator then you multiply that amount by the numerator.
Numerator: The top number
Denominator: The bottom number
You can add or subtract fractions very simply too! First you compare the denominators, if they are the same, all you have to do is add or subtract the numerators and keep the denominator the same. How ever if the denominators are different then you have to find their L.C.M. ( Least Common Multiple) Here is an example:
14-14, 28, 42, 56, 70, 84, 98, 112, 126, 140, 154
9-9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81, 90, 99, 118, 127, 136, 145, 154
154 is the numbers 9 and 14's Least Common Multiple! So now you understand how to find two numbers Least Common Multiple. After you do this step in your equation you must multiply both numerators by the same amount their denominators were multiplied by. Then you add or subtract the numerators. But if your answers numerator and denominator can both be divided by the same number then you must do that until your fraction can't be divided any longer.
