Jesters also known as "fools" were a lot like today's clowns. They dressed funny and acted silly and poked fun at people around them. Jesters were sometimes hired by lords or kings and were sometimes killed if they could not please their employers. Jesters sometimes became good friends or advisors to their employers. Sometimes they even took part in family gatherings.
