Water Usage Choices
By completing this activity, you will be able to decide which types of water
usage is most important. Complete this activity by yourself. Encourage your
family and friends to complete the activity and share results.
Materials:
Water Usage Choices Handout, poster paper for graph,
markers or crayons
Activity:
- Download the handout, which lists 20 water usage
choices and assign numbers to each item with 1 being the most important use
of water and 20 being the least important.
- With a family member or friend, combine your choices, calculate the rankings
and draw a bar graph comparing your results.
- Use our message
board to discuss one or more of the following questions:
- What were the reasons for the choices you made?
- Was it difficult to decide?
- Which of the 20 choices are for survival?
- What was your most important use of water and why?
- What was your least important use of water and why?
Extension:
Brainstorm ideas for a list of other kids of water uses that relate to where
you live and post some of your answers on our message
board.
