Groundwater

This experiment is to tell how we get groundwater

The materials that use will use are:

The procedure is as follows:

  1. Place the sponge in the filter basket and water in the coffee maker.
  2. Think of the coffee pot as an aquifer, and the sponge the soils the the water goes through.
  3. Turn the coffee pot on.

You will see the water go through the sponge. If there was sand to act as pollutants in the water, the sponge would catch most of the sand, but not all of it. This shows how pollutants affect the groundwater.
