floods and flash floods can occur seasonally or in the spring after a winter with lots of snow. each year, over 300,000 americans are driven from their homes by floods. $ 2,000,000,000 worth of property is either damaged, or destroyed. floods are great wasters of water. there is no area totally immune to flash floods.
Precipitation
wind, rain, sleet, and snow,
at mother natures call,
blowing, falling to and fro,
bad weather hits them all.

We are a thunderstorm
individually,
we are single drops of rain,
falling silently into the dust,
offering scant promise of moisture thirsty land.
but together,
we can nourish the earth
and revive its hopes and dreams.
together,
we are a thunderstorm.
