Dance is movement. It’s not just walking around the mall, or making lunch but it’s free movement. Dance makes you feel good. Whether to music, or just the sounds of your surroundings, anyone can dance. This website is about five types of organized dance; folk dance, ballet, tap, jazz, modern and some of the people that have influenced these styles. Perhaps older than the spoken language, dance has survived and no matter what, people have kept on dancing.
Graceful as a floating feather is a dancer in a tutu. These dancers have produced ballets that can dazzle your imagination. Along with some of these stories, you can learn how to begin dancing like Agnes De Mille on the Ballet page. Did you know, that not only are there dances in America, but in many other countries as well?!?   There are all sorts of exotic dances from Ireland  and very lively ones from Mexico. Exactly what   is the Dance of  the Little Old Men? You can find out in our Folk Dance page.
Jazz isn't just the toots from a saxophone or a clarinet, it is a vibrant dance that is very interesting to watch. The famous play Cats has a mixture of jazz dancing. This is just one thing that you can learn from our Jazz page. Remember that old saying, "Shop 'til you drop?" Well, with us it is dance 'til your feet get tired! Tap with happy feet and you'll be stomping rhythms all night long. Visit our Tap page and see what it's all about.
Modern is a dance created by those who were sick of the stiffness and perfection of ballet. If you are one who does not like ballet and would like to see a little more spice in dance or just to see what another kind of dance may be like, come and see the Modern page. WEEEEEE!!!!
