Anabolic steroids are part of a group of strong compounds really closely related to the male sex hormone testosterones. Research leading to their production started in the 1930's and steroids are hardly prescribed today by physicians.
Current uses for steroids in the medical field are certain kinds of anemia, severe burns, and some kinds of breast cancer. Drug abuse of steroids have become a national problem which means that it is a problem through the whole country of the United States of America. These drugs are usually illegally used by body builders, long-distance runners, bicyclists and other people into athletics that claim that steroids give 'em that extra oomph.
They're usually taken with mixtures of lots of exercise and body building or with diet medicines.
Some negative affects on taking steroids are:
liver tumors, sterility, masculine traits in women, aggression, depression associated with withdrawl, jaundice, high blood pressure, severe acne, trembling.
