Hawaiian Lionfish
In the Hawai'i's coral reefs there is a unique fish called is the Lion fish (Pterois sphex.). The Lion fish is also known as the turkey fish. It looks like a lion with stripes. It is a beautiful fish, but I would not recommend touching it because in its spines it has a powerful venom that will cause a sore sting. It can grow up to about 13 cm. It is endemic to Hawai'i. It lives in some quiet areas in the coral reefs such as caves and holes. The Lion fish eats at night. It uses its fins to catch its prey and it eats them alive.
