Saturn is 889.7 million miles (1,198,000,000 km) away from the Sun; almost twice as far as Jupiter’s distance.  Saturn gets 1/90 of the Sun’s light and heat that Earth receives.  Even though Saturn is the 6th planet from the Sun, Saturn radiates twice as much energy and heat than it gets from the Sun.  This is because there is a shortage of helium in the high clouds.  A lot of the upper atmosphere’s helium sinks, making the lower atmosphere heat up by friction as the atmosphere falls.

Saturn’s distance from Earth is 762,700,000 miles (1,030,000,000).  Saturn is easily visible at night.
