Saturn
was the farthest planet out in space to have been seen early on.
It was written that Saturn was seen first from Mesopotamia in 650 B.C.
The astronomers saw a dim yellow object moving sluggishly. It was then predicted
that Saturn would bring misfortune later on.
Each year, the ancient Romans had a feast called Saturnalia. This feast began close to the end of December, and ended a week later. No one was held prisoner during this celebration, as an act of good will. The Romans were not allowed to start any wars. There was no school, and shops stayed closed. Everyone joined the festival
