The Cherokee had brave, strong and swift warriors that never quit.
Even when the
Europeans came to America and took a lot of the Cherokee’s land, the Cherokee
continued with their way of life. The Cherokee used war for many different purposes, such as to please the
spirits and to get slaves. The Cherokee could not live without war. The boys of
the Cherokee tribe eagerly awaited the day that they could join the battles.
The
men of the tribe awaited nighttime so they could raid a neighboring tribe’s
village. The Cherokee men wanted to
live another day for war, and war was a whole lot more than just a battle for
the Cherokee. It was a way of life for them. War filled the Cherokee warrior’s
thoughts night and day. They wanted to kill a man almost as much as they wanted
to kill a huge moose or a huge deer. War was very important to the Native
American tribes, and some of them might have thought that they could not live
without it.
