Stick Ball
Balanced Traditions
The Cherokee played a stick and ball game like lacrosse or hockey.  Playing that game helped them with their hunting skills.  The Cherokee called it the “little brother to war”, because their game was so very competitive.  They did this during and after wars.  It decided wars sometimes.  It causes broken bones and sometimes death.  You play with a pole and a ball. You pick up the ball with the stick and try to throw it in the goal.  Some modern day Cherokee still play the stick ball game, just like their ancestors.
