Death of Sequoyah

One evening, Utiya had had enough. She grabbed the pieces of bark Sequoyah had been working on, and threw them into the fire.  Before Sequoyah's very eyes, five years of work was lost. Utiya told Sequoyah how the townspeople thought he was crazy.  Sequoyah was greatly hurt and offended.  So he took Ah-yoka, their youngest child and only daughter, and left that place and Utiya for good.
