Selling, Spending, and
Savings
Q.How do you spend
your allowance?
A. Some kids will buy valuable expensive things, and other kids will waste there money on cheap things such as candy and games, or things that you don't want to keep for a very long time. Also some kids will save there money until they have enough to by what expensive thing that they want. They may have to save it for a long time, but people have to learn to save their money for when they get older for something very expensive such as a car or house. When you get your allowance, plan whether or not you are going to buy something cheap, or expensive, if your going to save it, or spend it. If you are going to spend it, plan what you are going to buy and when you are going to buy in. This will help you plan out things in your personal budget.
Q. How do you think
your friends spend their money?
A.Most kids wouldn't think of making a budget. A budget is just and organized way of managing money. Some kids will save, and others will spend. When you are a grown up, you will have more money and maybe have to make a budget. But it is hard to save money, so I would think that most kids will spend there money on cheap things.
Q. Should you have to work or do something to get an allowance
A.I believe that you should. Earning your allowance will get you ready for when you get older and get a job. You will have to work. If you do not work then you do not get your money. If you don't do your work you will not get your allowance. If you don't work for your allowance, you are getting paid for nothing. You will have to work when you have a job, or you could get fired, or you may not get your pay. If you are not working for your allowance, I believe it is free money, or not even allowance. I think that the real meaning of allowance is-money or pay that you get for doing a job or chore.
Q.What are some ways
that you can make money?
A. Some really good ways are helping or working for people. Baby-sitting is an example, the person you are baby-sitting for should give you a certain amount of money for every hour you are there. Depending on how long you were there, they should pay you more or lesser amounts. Another way to earn money is raking leaves in the fall and shoveling snow in the winter. There are lots of chores that you can do to earn money. Maybe you clean your room every day and you get allowance.
Q.What kind of
discounts do you use?
A. Sometimes you can get coupons. Some examples are: Half the price, 2 for the price of 1, $1,$2 etc. off, buy one get one free. These are just some of the discounts in stores. Use the best deals, and compare the prices, to see which one is the cheapest. You will see a big difference in your budget with prices when you are comparing. For example: say you are buying a can of beans. If one of them cost $3.50, one costs $4.00, and one brand cost $2.99. Make sure that you are getting the cheapest with good quality.
Q. What is the reason that we use coupons?
A. The reason that we use coupons is so we can save more money. If you are buying something a and you have a coupon, it could save you money, and you may have some left over.
Q. Do coupons or
discounts save you money, or cause trouble?
A. Coupons save you money depending on what the deal is. You should look into deals. For example, say you are planning to buy a car. Look at many different car shops to find what you are looking for, and to get better deals. If you are looking for a different kind of car look at many different car shops to find better deals.
Q. Do you compare
prices?
A.Most people wouldn't think about comparing prices and just go for better quality. You can go for good quality at a good price if you compare.
Q. Why do stores have sales?
A.Stores have sales to get your attention, but you should only buy something if you are planning to. Before you go to the store make a list of what you are going to buy, and avoid discounts if they are not on your list. Buying things that you are not planning to buy but have discounts can costs you more money.
Q.Why do markets sell products that are $3.99 instead of just $4.00?
A.The store is trying to give you a little deal. You also have to pay tax. Most people will round and give the clerk a four dollar bill(plus tax) instead of $3.99. That is the exact amount. Tax will add on a lot if you are buying something expensive, that is part of the reason we use coupons. Stores will give you deals and say only for a limited time that means the deal will not go on forever and they are going to take it off soon.
Q.What are some ways that stores try to get you to buy products?
A. Some stores will give you deals that aren't very good deals and try to get you to buy the product. If a store is not selling very well they will probably put a deal on the product.
