Say you are given a weekly allowance of $10.00.  With your allowance you must pay for things such as snacks, magazines etc. and you also have to save some for things you may want.  If you make a budget, it will help you organize you money when you are buying something.  If you buy something you put it on your budget to see what you have bought.  You will find out how much    money you have left, how much money you have spent, and how much you have to spend.  You should organize things in your budget so that you have money you spend, money you save, and money you make.  Sometimes a budget is harder then it looks.  Your allowance is your income.  Here are some examples of things you might want to put in your budget:

                Snacks  $0.50 to $0.75                          WB00707_.GIF (678 bytes)

                Magazine   $2.00       WB01296_.GIF (495 bytes)

                Music     $10.00 to $20.00

                Gifts     $0.50 to $10.00                      WB01292_.GIF (597 bytes)

Things for yourself  $1.00 or more

Before you go to the store make a list of the items you want and how much they cost, and how much you want to save.   Then total all the prices that you have on your list and your savings and see if you can fit them in your income or paycheck.  You do not want the spending to be a larger amount then you income, or you might have to cut out some things on your list.
