Sydney looked up, where am I? he asked himself. As far as he could see there was only vast desert, hot sand, and a few trees. He squinted his eyes. Off in the distance he noticed something. He started walking towards it. As he got closer he made out a familiar shape. He finally reached the shape. It was a cat! A man came up to him.

"Hello your Highness." said the man.

"I like this," Sydney thought to himself. Sydney meowed.

"Visiting the Sphinx I see. It is a monument to honor you and our king. It is faced to the east because that is were the sun rises and the sun represents the circle of life."The man continued, " It was built in 2500 B.C. The Sphinx isn't considered very big, though it is 241 feet long and parts of it are 65 feet high. Some people believe that the erosion (wind marks) aren't like any other. Come with me little cat and I will show you some other great pyramids and statues." The man started to walk away, Sydney followed. After traveling for several minutes they reached a great pyramid.

"This is the Pyramid of Giza," the man pointed. "It is made out of 590,712 slabs of rock. Inside the temperature is only 68 degrees Fahrenheit. There are two inner rooms and many shafts. Every side is symmetrical. We built it in alignment with the stars so we could have contact with our gods and goddesses." He continued, "Come with me and I will teach you more about our civilization." As the man started to walk away, Sydney thought to himself how interesting the pyramids were.
