The wolf spider is very common and an excellent hunter. Many of them have large, hairy bodies, and run swiftly to catch their prey. Others look and act like other spiders. For example, some of them live near water and resemble fishing spiders in appearance and habits. Some of them live in burrows, or spin funnel-shaped webs.
