What kinds of jobs did they do?

Colonial people did lots of jobs. This is just a small sample:

The cobbler made shoes and repaired them. The hatter made and sold hats. The blacksmith made horseshoes and was the dentist. The pewterer made pewter spoons, plates, and mugs. The tanner made things out of leather which was made from animal hides. The silversmith made things out of silver like coins. The cabinetmaker made furniture in large towns. The clock maker made clocks and clock cases. The miller ground wheat and corn to make flour. The wheelwright made wagons and their wheels. The cooper made barrels. The barber made wigs, cut hair, and was the doctor. The tailor made coats in large towns and the white smith fixed and made things out of tin.

Colonial people were very busy!!
