Colonial people had to make their own clothes. That ment they had to spin flax to make the fabric, weave it, knit it, and then sew the clothes together. They had to grow their food in gardens. The gardens had to be weeded and the food had to be harvested when it was ripe. They had to build their own houses which ment they had to chop the wood, build the house, then chop more wood for furniture. They had to make their own dishes. They had to make candles out of animal fat. Soap was also made from animal fat. They also had to fix broken things. Colonial people had a lot of chores to do!
