Many years ago, people were terrified of a comet coming too near the Earth.  They believed comets caused war, earthquakes and famine.  People also believed that comets and meteors killed the dinosaurs.  Meteor showers look like a bunch of comets in the sky.  A comet shower is deadly.  Comets move slowly across the sky, while meteorites and meteor showers flash across the sky in just a couple of seconds!
