Hillary Rodham Clinton was born on October 21, 1947 to Hugh Rodham Sr. and Dorothy Rodham. Hillary was raised in the midwest. When she was little, she enjoyed playing with her two younger brothers, Hugh Jr. and Tony. Her family's values were public service, compassion and politics.

Hillary was involved in many organized social events when she was a teenager. In the summer, she played baseball, tennis and swam. In the winter, she ice-skated on local ponds and afterwards enjoyed steamy cups of hot cocoa.

When she grew up, she considered several different careers, one of which was becoming an astronaut. She wrote a letter to NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) asking them how she might be able to go into outer space. They replied, "We're not taking in any girls!" She was stunned that they would say such a thing, but she was happy when she heard that Sally Ride and other women became successful astronauts.

She married Bill Clinton, who became the 42nd president of the United States. That makes her the First Lady. They have a daughter, Chelsea, who is a student at Stanford University.

Hillary is now running for U.S. Senator from New York against Rudy Giuliani.
