The Tutorial

Step 1
   Make a new image *306 pixels by 61 pixels*.
   Set the foreground color to white and the
   background color to white.

Step 2
   First, make a new layer. Now make a horizontal
   selection bar across the work area of your
   image. Next change the background color to
   black.

Step 3
   Get out the Gradient tool and make sure you
   have the Linear Gradient option selected. Now
   make a straight line accross the seletion
   vertically. It should now look like a shaded bar.

Step 4
   Make a new layer. Now here comes the hard
   part. Get out the Freeform pen tool, and
   click and hold just below the bar you have
   made. Now wind over the bar and then under
   multiple times. Make sure you end up just
   above the bar.

Step 5
   Change the foreground color to red and select
   the paths tab. Now hit the stroke path button.
   There will be a red mark along the path. Delete
   the path and add effects and/or perception
   tricks.
