Brian: What makes HotDog better than a regular editor like notepad?

Nathan: Feature rich product I like the stuff like the auto refreshing screen, personally.

Brian: What are some of the new features that will be added to HotDog 6.0?

Nathan:
  • Extended editor support
  • Easier Document Navigation
  • Integrated Cascading Style Sheets
  • Flexible scripting author
  • Leading edge accessibility support
I'm saving up already! :)

Brian: What was the first version of HotDog like?

Nathan: It was cutting edge for it's time. It was one of the first editors that allowed you to edit HTML.

Brian: What kinds of new products will Sausage Software be coming out with?

Nathan: New versions of HotDog Professional, HotDog PageWiz and HotDog Junior. Along with eCommerce products (Business-in-a-Box). LOL I like the name "business in a box

Brian: How is sausage software making it easier for kids to make webpages?

Nathan: HotDog Junior allows kids to build a Webpage without even knowing HTML. While HotDog PageWiz allows you to see how HTML works through it's unique WYSIWYG and Text Authoring environment.WYWAWhat? :)

Brian: Do you have any advice on our (us kids') quest to being hot-shot webdesigners? :)

Nathan: To be a good Web Designer you not only need to be a good HTML coder but also have the graphic design skills to build a good looking site. Surf aroudn and look at Web sites. After a while it becomes obvious what works and what doesn't. If you are just starting out just keep your site simple and easy to navigate. Geez I had to learn the hard way ;)

Brian: When did you first get involved with Sausage Software?

Nathan: In the first few months. I left and did some contracting but ended up back here! It has been a great place to work.

Brian: What do you do for Sausage Software currently?
Nathan: I work in Marketing Services. We look after marketing the products and building the Web sites for the company.

Brian: How/when did you first get into computers?

Nathan: When I was a young I had a paper route and saved up for an amstrad 6128. Then at High School I did computer science for 3 years. Finally I went onto University and completed a Bachelor of Computing (Information Systems).

Brian: Hey Nathan, thanks a bunch for answering these questions for us!

Nathan: Well Brian it is really great to see that there are some talented up and coming Webmasters out there. We hope to see your resume in 10 years or so!
