Drove the Union army out of Virginia

Spring of 1862 the battle of the second Bull Run started because general Jackson was sent ahead to force a battle with the north. The second Bull Run was important because it drove the union out of Virginia. And the union hasn’t won a battle yet.

Jackson soldiers were used to the long marches so they had no trouble holding popes army. As the fighting was occurring near groveling, Long Street was hurrying up the valley between the Blue Ridge.

The North had lost the battle. And 16,200 North troops died. And 9,000 South troops died for the South. The next battle would be Chancellorsville.
