Horus was one of the gods of the town called Heliopolis.
Horus
was the god of the royal protector. Horus was among the most important gods of
Egypt because he lived inside the pharaoh. Horus was born magically by
Isis
following his dad Osiris’ death. His mother raised Horus on the island of
Chemmis near Buto. He was in horrible danger from his evil Uncle Seth, who had
tried to kill father earlier, but his mother protected him, and he survived.
Horus had a lot of names but when he was a child he was called Harpokrates which
means "the infant Horus," and he was pictured as a baby being nursed
by Isis.
