Pagers

A pager is another way for people to communicate with each other. A nickname for pagers is beepers. Pagers are carried around for personal use. A pager is used for emergencies because if one person is out and one person is at home, the person that’s out should know what happened. They can find out what happened when they call the number that’s on the pager. A pager is a small radio receiver. When the pager picks up the radio signal, it either makes a tone vibration to let you know someone is trying to get ahold of you. Each pager has its own identification number on it. A caller can dial the identification number from a telephone or a computer attached to a modem. The caller sends their own phone number to the other person and the person with the pager can call them back on a telephone.
