Weird Sharks

This is the perfect place to get the coolest info on practicly the ugliest, weirdest and most unusual sharks that you have ever seen. Well,to start off, we will tell you about the Basking shark and this shark is found along the southern states of Australia.  They are mostly seen in groups of three to four, but have been reported in groups of 100. Their diet is made up of plankton, and they catch the plankton by leaving their mouths open as they glide through the water.  Many people think that this unusual shark dwells on the bottom of the floor during winter, and they survive on food that they save in their livers.  EWWW!  This shark is also hunted for its OIL.  Can you believe it!!  They contain 200-400 gallons of oil in their livers.
The next shark that we will give you some info on is the Goblin shark. This shark has to be the weirdest of them all!!  It is rarely seen, but has been located in the bottom tip of Africa.  It has a slender body, and it is very flabby. Also, it has a huge pointed snout and really, really small eyes. This animal is also very slow and is buoyant.  Many people have seen the teeth of this shark stuck in electical cables. Ow! That had to  hurt!  People claim that the Goblin shark is harmless to humans, and the Goblin likes to stay in very deep water. They have been reported to be as deep as 1200 meters.  Also this shark has been reported to be 4 meters wide.  I don't think that this shark will be going through any doors pretty soon.

Next up is the Megamouth shark and this shark is very very rare, world-wide only 12 of these weird sharks have been found. The Megamouth's body looks like a cylindar and gets smaller as it leades to the tail. It is also said that it has small eyes. Also it swims stiffly and slowely through the water. This sharks body is also soft and flabby, the head is also buldging out and is bigger than the rest of its body. The shark is known to swim down to 200 meters during the day and also during the night it rises to 15 meters below the surface. That shark most be slower than a snail!! Plankton is its favorite meal because it lives so far down.
